Category note: For coworking, surveillance should ideally be cloud-managed (no on-site NVR to babysit) and ideally unified with your access control so door events and footage share one pane. Verkada, Avigilon Alta and Rhombus each do cameras + access in a single platform; Brivo (which merged with Eagle Eye Networks in December 2025) now pairs cloud video with cloud access under one brand. Want vendor-neutral cameras? Axis, Hanwha Vision or i-PRO (with Milestone / Genetec) let you pick hardware and VMS separately. Cost-sensitive and already on UniFi? UniFi Protect runs locally with no per-camera subscription. If AI search/alerts on your existing cameras matter most, Spot AI and Coram AI overlay intelligence without replacing hardware. Two member-space cautions: (1) privacy - you're recording members and guests, so under GDPR and its local equivalents (e.g. Singapore's PDPA, Australia's Privacy Act) set retention limits, post signage/consent, and run a DPIA before any face-recognition; (2) NDAA Section 889 - Hikvision and Dahua are banned for US federal use, restricted on UK government sensitive sites and, for Hikvision, ordered out of Canada, so they carry procurement / reputational risk; operators serving corporate or government members generally avoid them. Asia-Pacific: Hikvision and Dahua are common in the region because of price, so if you need an NDAA-compliant alternative with strong local distribution, look first at Hanwha Vision (South Korea) and i-PRO (Japan).
